Can You Ask Your MP to support a new Early Day Motion in support of comics publishing and creators?
Just a reminder that, following up on the launch of the UK Development Agency for Comics at Parliament last week, six MPs have now proposed an Early Day Motion calling for Parliament to recognise the British comics industry and the role of comics in encouraging a love reading. Please do consider getting your MP to sign it, too, thank you.

It was great to catch up with Comics Laureate Bobby Joseph (in the audience with me, Ben Cullis of The77 and many others, including Charlie Adlard, Paul Gravett, Sean Phillips, Lucy Sullivan and a host of staff from various mainstream comic publishers including David Fickling Comics, DC Thomson, Hachette and Rebellion)
Six MPs from across the political spectrum sponsored EDM (Early Day Motion)1149: Comic Art, led by Tim Farron (Liberal Democrat), an enthusiastic reader of VIZ and staunch supporter of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival, along with Adam Dance (Liberal Democrat), Steve Darling (Liberal Democrat), Clive Jones (Liberal Democrat), Chris Law (Scottish National Party) and Jim Shannon (Democratic Unionist).
Daniel Francis (Labour) Ayoub Khan (Independent), and Christine Jardine (Liberal Democrat) and Andrew Rosindell (Conservative) have joined the sponsors in support so far.
